New kit for Pinhoe Spartans Ability Counts
The Exeter Foundation has donated £500 to the Pinhoe Spartans YFC to purchase a new football strip for their Ability Counts team.
The Pinhoe Spartans Ability Counts Football team are the only youth football team in the Exeter area offering dedicated football training and involvement within the Devon Ability Counts League.
The club is open to boys and girls between eight and sixteen with a disability or special needs, and all abilities are represented. This year, the Pinhoe Spartans will also provide adult training and an adult team in the Ability Counts League.
Andy Barefoot, manager of the Pinhoe Spartans Ability Counts team, was inspired to form the team three years ago after his son partially lost his hearing following a case of meningitis. He said: “The children love to wear their kits but the majority of the existing kit we had was small and tatty. We’re hugely grateful for this donation which will ensure that all members of the team have the same strip and all feel included.”
Trustee of the Exeter Foundation, David Bird, said: “We hope the Pinhoe Spartans continue with their success and make the most of their new kit. On behalf of the Exeter Foundation, we are extremely proud to be able to support such deserving causes.”
